INVESTIGATION OF A NEW DYE-GLASS GAMMA RADIATION DOSIMETER. Period Covered: May 1957 to January 1958
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4232237
The effects of gamma radiation on Methylene Blue, Fluorescein, Rhodamine B, Fast Red S, and Brilliant Green dyes absorbed in Corning thirsty glass (code 7930) are presented. The optical absorbency follows Beer's law with radiation dose to 10/sup 9/ erg gm/sup -1/ carbon. The absorption of dyes in this porous glass merits consideration as a gamma ray dosimeter. (auth)
