SORPTION OF HYDROGEN BY TITANIUM AND ZIRCONIUM AT LOW PRESSURES (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Tekh. Fiz.
OSTI ID:4231507
Measurements were made of the quantity and rate of hydrogen sorption under low pressures by ductile, sublimatid, and powdered titanium and zirconium. It was revealed that fast hydrogen sorption begins at room temperature achieving the maximum adsorption by titanium and zirconium powders at 150 to 200 deg C. At 10/sup -6/ to 10/sup -3/ mm mercury pressure the rate of sorption does not react to pressure. Effective sorption coatings were developed for efficient pumping of hydrogen from vacuum apparatuses.
