The process of the crystallization of barium titanate from a barium chloride melt ln the temperature interval 1200 to 1470 deg C was followed by differential thermal analysis. From the data obtained, the phase diagram of the system BaCl/sub 2/-BaTiO/sub 3/ was constructed and by choosing the right conditions triangular or square crystals of BaTiO/sub 3/ could be grown. Properties are listed. (TCO)
