It is shown that a study of the gamma = p yields p + pi /sup +/ + pi /sup -/, eactions near their threshold permit the determination of the scattering amplitudes of pi mesons on pi mesons for zero energy if the mesonmeson interaction is of a resonance nature and the determination of a certain combination of these amplitudes if the interaction is not of a resonance nature.
