FORMATION OF MERCURY ISOTOPES 194, 195, AND 197 BY PROTON REACTIONS ON GOLD AT 155 Mev (in French)

The cross sections for the (p,n) and (p,3n) reactions were found to be 31 and 25 mb, respectively, by measuring the Hg/sup 197/ and Au/sup 195/ activities. The activity of Hg/sup 194/ was not observed. The cross section calculated beginning with Au/sup 194/ formed by branching is abnormally low, taking into account a new value for the period of Hg/sup 194/ (about 700 days). (tr-auth)
