THE ELECTRON VAN DE GRAAFF IN SEMICONDUCTOR RESEARCH

Journal Article · · Nuclear Instr. and Methods
A 1 Mev electron Van de Graaff accelerator was applied to fundamental semiconductor research. Its versatility as a pulsed source of ionization for studying electrical transients in these materials and under d-c operation for introducing atomic defects into solid lattices was exploited. These two aspects of the accelerator are discussed with examples from experiments in germanium. (auth)
