THE DETERMINATION OF THORIUM IN T.B.P. PHASES

The thorium is determined directly on an aliquot of the sample in the presence of water by titrating the pyrocatechol violet complex with excess standard ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid, the thorium being extracted into the water layer by stirring with a glass rod. The excess ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is then back titrated with standard thorium solution. (auth)
