ELASTIC SCATTERING OF 3.7-Mev NEUTRONS FROM S, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, AND Zn

The differential cross sections for the elastic scattering of 3.7-Mev neutrons from sulfur, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, and zinc were measured in a ring geometry using a modified Bonner-type scintillation detector. The measurements were taken over an angular range between 10 and 160 deg . Angular resolution effects were removed by a suitable iterative procedure. Multiple- scattering effects were removed by an approximate analytical treatment. (auth)
