The components used in the fabrication of GeigerMueller counters and the method of fabrication for the counter are described. The insiallation and filling of the counters are also discussed. The materials that can be used and the precautions which must be adopted in order to obtain counters with uniform operation and good characietistics are described. The couriers discussed are of brass with thin windows of mica or aluminum and operate at 1100 v with a slope less than 5%/100 v. (tr-auth)
