>In the uranium minerals studied (billietite, becquerelite, schoepite, wolsendorfite, fourmarierite, and vandendriesscheite) the uranium atoms are placed at the nodes of a simple pseudohexagonal lattice whose cell varies only slightly from one mineral to the other. The average dimensions are 4.1 A for the side of the hexagon and 7.4 A for the prism height. It is deduced that the structure of these compounds is based on the existence of non-defined plane layers with the composition UO/sub 2/(O,OH)/sub 2/. (tr-auth)
