The principle of a mathematical method using Fourier transforms, whlch makes possible the decomposition of a complex experimental curve formed by the superposition of several curves having the same analytical form but different amplitudes, is described. The possibility of using this analysis to determine, from photometric curves, the grain density of tracks made by strongly ionizing particles in ionographic emulsions is considered in particular. The utilization and precision of the method is shown by a simple idealized example. (tr-auth)
