NEUTRON POLARIZATION IN THE REACTION D(d,n)He$sup 3$ AT Ed= 8.2 Mev

The polarization of neutrons from the reaction D(d n)He/sup 3/ was measured at 8.2 Mev incident deuteron energy. By the use of He/sup 4/ as a polarization analyzer and a triple coincidence technique systematical errors in the experiment were kept very small, but at a sacrifice in counting rate. Polarization measurements were made at center-of-mass angles of 0 deg , 47 deg , and 59 deg . The values obtained for the neutron polarization and their probable statistical errors are P(O deg ) = (-)0.007 plus or minus 0.007, P(47 deg ) =- 0.097 plus or minus 0.060, and P(59 deg )
