STABILITY OF THE /cap beta/ PHASE IN Ti-Fe AND Ti-Ni ALLOYS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zhur. Neorg. Khim.
OSTI ID:4215969
Phase diagrams of Ti- Fe and Ti-Ni at 700 to 1000 deg C are plotted. In magnesium thermal alloys with 5.6 wt. % iron and in iodide alloys with 5.7 wt. % Fe the beta phase stabilized at 950 and 900 deg C, respectively; with 7.11 wt. % iron the beta phase is annealed at 800 deg C. In Ti-Ni alloys, the beta phase is annealed in magnesium thermal alloys containing 6.98 wt. % Ni and in iodide alloys with 7.6 wt. % Ni at 900 and 800 deg C, respectively. The beta phase stabilitiy in alloys with 5.7, 6.34, 6.68, and 7.11 wt.% iron and;.6 wt. % Ni at -196 to + 500 deg C was studied using x-ray structure analysis, microstructure, hardness, and microhardness methods.
