Work has been initiated on the development of a static eliminator containing krypton-85 which will eliminate or greatly reduce the build-up of static electricity near operating industrial equipment. A preliminary design of the krypton-85 source and housing unit is presented. Radiation intensities of several Kr/sup 85/ sources were measured and were compared with standard radium foils. (C.W. H. )
