Electrochemical studies of [(TpTP)M{sup V}(L){sub 2}]{sup +}Cl{sup -} (M = P or Sb, L = OCH{sub 3}{sup -}, and TpTP is the dianion of tetra-p-tolylporphyrin). Voltammetry, EPR, and UV-Visible studies were applied to interpret the electrochemical reactions. It is found that these compounds undergo internal charge transfer from the {pi} anion radical to the Sb(V) or P(V) center.
