PHOTODISINTEGRATION OF THE DEUTERON AT HIGH ENERGIES

It is shown that the photodisintegration of the deuteron up to about 140 Mev can be well accounted for only by the nucleon parts, if many effects are correctly treated. It is pointed out that the influence of the nature of the triplet odd state (which is the final state of the electric dipole transition) is remarkable, and the necessity of using exact multipole formulas at high energies is emphasized.
