An expansion is obtained of the wave functions of a particle with spin s and of a system of two particles with spin s/sub 1/ and s/sub 2/ over the irreducible representations of the homogeneous Lorentz-group; this allows one to give a relativistically invariant classification of the states. For an invariant description of the polarization of free particles an expansion is found of the density matrix over the irreducible representations of the Lorentz group. (auth)
