THE ACIDITY FUNCTION OF THE SYSTEM DIETHYL ETHER-BF$sub 3$ (in Russian)

The acidity function H/sub o/ of the system ether--boron fluoride was determined over a broad range of concentrations. It was shown that in acidity (H/ sub o/ =-6.22 for 100%) (C/sub 2/H/sub 5/)/sub 2/OBF/sub 3/ exceeds phosphoric acid. Quantitative data on the rate of isobutylene polymerization agree well with those on the acidity function. An equation was proposed relating the acidity function and the concentration of (C/sub 2/H/sub 5/)/sub 2/OBF/sub 3/ in (C/sub 2/ H/sub 5/)/sub 2/O.
