NEUTRON-PROTON SCATTERING AT 630 MEV

The differential elastic (n-p) scattering cross sections were measured in the angle region 11 to 180 deg (c.m.s.) at the mean neutron energy 630 Mev. The data coincide within experimental error with the results of previous measurements at 580 Mev. The dependence near the angle 180 deg was used to determine the pion-nucleon interaction constant using the method proposed by Chew which was found to be f/sup 2/ = 0.06 plus or minus 0.02. (auth)
