ON THE MASS SPECTRUM OF BARYONS

The mass spectrum of baryons was examined within the scheme of strong interactions given by Krolikowski. The calculus was performed in nonrelativistic approximation. The following maps differences were determined: SIGMA - LAMBDA = l6Om/sub e/, XI -N = 754m/sub e/, and LAMBDA -N = 317m/sub e/. The assumption was made that the ""bare"' mass spectrum has a form dependent on the "" strangeness'' S: m(S) = m + S/sub u/, where mu = 212m/sub e/ is the mass of the mu -meson. The common cutoff was determined to be k/sub max/ = 3.5 mu /sub pi / = 1 mu /sub k/ for pi and K-interactions. (C.J.G.)
