Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4204013

An alloy of 80% silver-15% indium-5% cadmium is being considered as the absorber material for control rods in the Yankee Atomic Electric Company's nuclear power plant. The fabrication of a control rod contuining an 80 g- 15% In-5% Cd absorber section for use in the Yankee critical experiments is presented in detail. Also, the nuclear and metallurgical properties of 80% Ag-15% In-5% Cd are reviewed. (auth)
