THE EFFECT OF VERY HIGH DOSES OF X-RAY IRRADIATION ON THE CONTENT OF AMINO ACIDS, PROTEINS AND NUCLEIC ACIDS IN THE WHEAT PLANT (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Doklady Akad. Nauk S.S.S.R.

Additional data on the accumulation of amino acids, proteins, and nucleic acids in wheat plants irradiated with 300,000 r indicate that exposure to the higher dosage produces no reduction in acid content. Moreover, there is a tendency toward acid accumulation due to the depression of plant growth while photosynthesis, mineral supply, and other processes continue. (R.V.J.)
