Decomposition kinetics of residual austenite in chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, and vanadium alloyed steels, diffusion annealed at 1200 deg for 6 hours, were studied at 300 to 650 deg . Decomposition of super-cooled austenite in steels annealed at 1100 deg was also studied in melted tin at 300 to 700 deg . Comparative data are tabulated aud diagrams are plotted for residual and super- cooled austenite decomposition in various steels. (R.V.J.)
