Recovery of Uranium from Uranium-Zirconium Fuel Scrap

Procedures have been modified and test runs made for the dissolution of zirconium–uranium alloy scrap and the separationof the uranium from the zirconium by dibutyl carbitol extraction. Uranium containing less than 40 ppm Zr/U3O8 can be consistently obtained at increased uranium throughputs.
