BOILING WATER REACTOR STUDY--100 Mw BOILING WATER REACTOR CONCEPTUAL DESIGN
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4196898
The objective of the study was to determine the capital and energy costs of a 100-Mw dual cycle, boiling water reactor and associated complete electrical generating plant consistent with a schedule calling for start of construction in July 1960. Ground rules prescribed by the AEC include a plant life of 30 years and an annual load factor of 80%. Conceptual design criteria, capital cost estimates, energy cost estimates, design and construction schedules, variations in cost as a function of unit size, operating characteristics, and safety aspects are presented.
