DETERMINATION OF TRITIUM IN BIOLOGICAL MATERIAL

Journal Article · · Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics (U.S.)

A method is described by which tritium in blood and tissues may be determined conveniently on a routine basis. The procedure involves conversion of the tritium to water by combustion with copper and copper oxide in sealed tubes, collection of the tritiated water by vacuum distillation, and determination of the radioactivity in the water by liquid scintillation counting.
