POLARIZATION OF PROTONS IN C$sup 12$(d,p)C$sup 1$$sup 3$

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D

The polarization of protons from the ground-state theta /sub 1/ = to 15 deg to theta /sub 1/ = 60 deg at a deuteron bombarding energy of 10 Mev. The polarization was found to be positive at all angles studied, the axis of quantization being defined by n = k/sub p/ x k/sub d/. The observed polarizations were 18% at 15 deg (lab); 11% at 18 deg ; 13.8% at 24 deg ; 15.2% at 30 deg ; 19.5% at 36 deg ; 44.4% at 48 deg ; 30% at 54 deg ; 45.8% at 60 deg . The results are compared with existing polarization measurements on C/sup 12/ (d,p)C/sup 13/. (auth)
