AN ESTIMATE OF THE CROSS SECTION FOR PRODUCTION OF POSITIVE K-MESONS BY ELECTRONS

The cross section for electroproduction of K/sup +/(e + p -e + LAMBDA / sup 0/ + K/sup +) is estimated by using the cross section for photoproduction of K. Taking the coupling constant to be (G/4 pi )/sup 2/ approximately 2.9, the cross section is found to be 3.65 x 10/sup -33 cm/sup 2/ for 1022 Mev. (D.L.C.)
