PROPERTIES OF SOME MANGANESE PHASE MAGNESIUM-BASE ALLOYS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Metalloved. i Termichesk. Obrabotka Metal.
OSTI ID:4192466
A phase analysis based on selective dissolution of solid solutions was used for determining the nature of the manganese phase (1.5 to 2% Mn) in magnesium alloys (MgMn, Mg-Mn-Al, Mg-Mn-Ca, and Mg-Mn-Al-Ca). The results show that magnesium does not diffuse in the manganese phase, aluminum diffuses in considerable quantities, and calcium difiuses only slightly, (R.V.J.)
