PROCESS OF RECOVERING URANIUM VALUES

A process is described for recovery of U from alkali metals, alkaline earths, transition elements, and rare earths. The U-containing material is hydrided and then reacted with alkali metal acid fluoride. The resulting mixture is then treated with HF. Then, treatment with F/sub 2/ gas causes UF/sub 6/ to volatilize and be separated. (T.R.H.)
