The operation of a small batch vacuum distillation system built as an integral part of the Organic Moderated Reactor Experiment (OMRE) demonstrated satisfactory separation of high boiling decomposition products from the organic coolant. Information gained in the operation of the batch system and data obtained in the related development program were used to design a continuous flash distillation system which is described.
