THE SPHERICAL-HARMONIC METHOD AND ITS APPLICATION TO ONE VELOCITY NEUTRON PROBLEMS
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:4183459
A form of the spherical-harmonic method is shown to solve the one- velocity Boltzmann equation in plane or spherical cases to any desired degree of accuracy. Graphs are presented which show the radii of the U/sup 235/ and Pu/sup 239/ cores surrounded by infinite tampers for a wide range of multiplication numbers and rrtios of tamper cross sections to core cross sections.
