ELASTIC SCATTERING OF DEUTERONS BY He$sup 4$

A model of the d + He/sup 4/ interaction is developed and compared to the data on the ground state of Li/sup 6/ and the d + He/sup 4/ elastic scattering data to 4.5 Mev (deuteron laboratory energy). New phase-shift analyses of the 8- and 10.3-Mev elastic scattering data are made, and quantities relevant to the production or analysis of beams of polarized deuterons are calculated. (auth)
