Previously it was postulated that vertical focusing of electrons moving in a magnetic field along curves close to the circumference or spiral cam be achieved by means of cylindrical magnetic lenses. The focusing can be used in charged particle accelerators in which the leading magnetic field increases with increased radial distances. Experimental investigations of electron motion in magnetic fields where the defocusing action of the field is suppressed by cylindrical magnetic lenses are described. (R.V.J.)
