Theoretical interpretation of the SAS-2 high energy gamma-ray observations of the galactic plane in terms of the galactic cosmic-ray and matter distributions

Gamma-ray data from SAS-2 is analyzed. It is suggested that enhanced gamma radiation in the arm segments of the galaxy is due to the interaction of cosmic rays with the matter in the galactic arms. (BJG)
