A study of synthetic carnotite blended with U/sub 3/O/sub 8/ indicated a product which meets specifications with respect to U recovery. The determination of Th and U, evaluation of 33.5% TBP extraction flowsheet, the effect of Al on fluoride volatilization, moving bed reactor for production of UF/sub 4/, and a study of the reduction-to-metal process are discussed. The recovery of U from scrap materials and corrosive effects of ammonium uranates are outlined, together with a general review of the work on Th development and amalytical determinations. (W.L.H.)
