Inclusive $delta$$sup ++$ production in $pi$$sup +$p and pp interactions at 100 GeV/c and the average multiplicity of $pi$$sup +$$pi$$sup -$ scattering

Inclusive $delta$$sup ++$(1236) production in $pi$$sup +$p and pp interactions is consistent with one-pion exchange. The average charged multiplicity recoiling from the $delta$$sup ++$ is studied as a function of missing mass, M$sup 2$, for both interactions.
