STRONTIUM-90 IN THE 'MIXED LAYER' OF THE ATLANTIC OCEAN
An analysis of the distribution of Sr/sup 90/ from nuclear bomb fall-out in the Atlantic Ocean, both north and south of the equator, was made. The water columns sampled appeared to have three or four times as much total Sr/sup 90/ below 100 m as remained above that depth. A direct vertical movement by wind- driven mixing was indicated.
