EXCHANGE EFFECTS ON THE PHOTODETACHMENT CROSS-SECTION OF H$sup -$

Journal Article · · Astrophysical Journal (U.S.)
DOI:https://doi.org/10.1086/146891· OSTI ID:4173747

It has been shown that little further improvement in the calculated H/ sup -/ photcdetachinent cross section is likely to result from using more complicated H/sup -/ wave functions. Results are given for cross section calculations using the 20-parameter H/sup -/ function and the dipcle velccity formula. The results of Chandraseknar and Elbert, using centralfield functions, are compared to these using the exchangewave functions. (B.O.G.)
