The vibrational structure of the luminescence spectra of the deuterated derivatives of benzene, d/sub 1/ and d/sub 2/-para, was compared with that of the d/sub 0/ and d/sub 6/ benzenes. By changing the rapidity of cooling of the dilute solutions of d/sub 0/ and d/sub 6/ in cyclohexane, two "sites" of the crystalline lattice of cyclohexane multiply in a different fashion. The relative intensity of the components of the doublets observed in absorption and in luminescence are thus caused to vary. (tr-auth)
