The absolute modulation of positrons in the energy range 20 to 500 MeV is deduced from a measurement of the interplanetary positron spectrum. The energy loss, or cooling, predicted by modulation theory, can be directly observed by studying the time variations in the positron-negatron ratio. (BJG)
