SAFETY REPORT FOR THE CAROLINAS VIRGINIA TUBE REACTOR CRITICAL EXPERIMENTS

Application is made to the AEC for a Construction Permit and a Class 104 Utilization Facility license for the performance of the Carolinas-Virginia Tube Reactor Critical Experiments at the Westinghouse Reactor Evaluation Center. Administrative rules and operating restrictions which were compiled on the basis of past experience and future requirements are set forth. The site, the WREC facilities and administration, the control systems, operations, the credible hazards and accidents, and the methods used in the hazards analysis are described. (W.D.M.)
