Instrumental technique in x-ray astronomy

Journal Article · · Annu. Rev. Astron. Astrophys., v. 13, pp. 423-509
This review is confined to nonfocusing, high-sensitivity counter techniques used in the detection of cosmic photons in the 0.20 to 300 keV range. The status of x-ray astronomy, photon interactions, detector principles and applications, sensitivity considerations, radiation environment, and contemporary instruments are discussed.
