EFFECT OF STRANGE PARTICLES ON THE S-WAVE PION-NUCLEON SCATTERING

Effect of strange particles on S-wave pion-nucleon scattering at low energies is examined qualitatively. This effect is shown to be too small to play an essential role in the suppression of the isospin-even part of the phase shift, but very important in the isospin-odd part. (auth)
