Excitation of ion-acoustic waves by rf waves at the boundary of a plasma

Journal Article · · Sov. Phys. - Tech. Phys. (Engl. Transl.), v. 20, no. 1, pp. 16-18
OSTI ID:4170474
The amplitudes of ion-acoustic waves excited in a plasma by rf surface waves or by rf waves impinging on the plasma and penetrating to the skin depth are calculated in the weakly nonlinear approximation. The amplitude of the ion- acoustic wave$sup 19$ is particularly large when it is excited by waves incident at different angles or by an incident wave and a surface wave.
