ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF CAESIUM-137 IN URINE

The sample, with added cesium carrier, is evaporated to dryness in the presence of nitric acid, ashed, and the residue dissolved in hydrochloric acid. The cesium is precipitated as silico-tungstate, which is dissolved and the solution purified by ion-exchange resins. The cesium is precipitated as perchlorate, mounted on a stainless steel counting tray and the activity measured with a GeigerMueller tube. (auth)
