PHYSICAL PRINCIPLES IN THE CHOICE OF THE TECHNIQUE OF /cap beta/- IRRADIATION (in Russian)

A system of dosimetry of beta rariation, based on spectral in- vestigations in the fields of beta -radiators, is given. It is shown that with the change of dimensions of the source and depth of the mediunn, the values of the dose per beta particle for the given isotope (with simple beta spectrum) remain practically constant. The dose values per beta particle and the distribution of the dose throughout the irradiated medium for S/sup 35/, W/sup 185/, Tl/sup 204/, Y/sup 91/, P/sup 32/, Sr/sup 90/, and C e/sup 144/ + Pr/sup 144/. A criterium is established for the choice of the isotope and dimensions of the source for providing optimal conditions of irradiation at a given depth. (auth)
