BS>The sensitivity of the reaction Li/sup 7/(p, alpha )He/sup 4/ with respect to proton polarization was measured in the energy range 0. plus or minus to 2 Mev. Polarized protons were obtained from elastic scattering of C/sup 12/ (p,p)C/sup 11/. For small energies at 45 deg the part of cross section that depends on the polarization does not exceed 10%; this quantity grows smoothly as the energy increases and at 2 Mev it is 60%. (auth)
