Photoluminescence studies of lanthanide ion complexes of gold and silver dicyanides. 2. A new low dimensional solid state class for nonradiative excited state energy transfer
- Univ. of Maine, Orono, ME (United States)
The authors used photoluminescence to probe the excited states of the layered compounds Dy[Au(CN){sub 2}]{sub 3}, [DyAu], Gd[Au(CN){sub 2}]{sub 3}, [GdAu], and Dy[Ag(CN){sub 2}]{sub 3} [DyAg]. These studies suggest that energy transfer in the [DyAu] system is inefficient. Conversely the [DyAg] system displays efficient energy transfer.
