Structure and physical properties of La{sub 3.4}Ca{sub 0.6}V{sub 5}Si{sub 4}O{sub 22}: A novel mixed-valent vanadium(III/IV) oxosilicate
- State Univ. of New Jersey, Piscataway, NJ (United States)
The authors studied the crystal structure and physical properties of La{sub 3.4}Ca{sub 0.6}V{sub 5}Si{sub 4}O{sub 22}. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/m (No. 12). The magnetic susceptibility of this compound follows Curie-Weiss behavior. Measurements of the electric conductivity indicate that this compound is an insulator.
